Located in the stunning Magaliesberg Biosphere Reserve, the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour is an excellent attraction for visitors from all over in search of excitement and adventure during their holiday. Experience a unique journey through the ecology and geology of one of the world’s oldest and most fascinating mountain ranges.
A Unique and Memorable Experience
The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour is a unique and memorable experience that will awaken visitors’ senses and have everyone in great spirits. Although the beauty of the Magaliesberg can be enjoyed through hikes and other tours, zip lining will place visitors in the heart of the ancient Magaliesberg mountain range, at the mesmerizing Ysterhout Kloof which is a stunning gorge carved out of the mountainside, ideal for hosting this eco-friendly adventure.
Eleven platforms constructed in between the natural elements of the gorge allow visitors to zip line and zig-zag down the kloof and land briefly at each platform along the way down. For those who are nervous about taking on this adventure for the first time, guides will gladly go in tandem.
What You’ll Enjoy
The tour itself takes place for two and a half hours and includes transportation, a safety briefing, safety equipment like helmets and gloves as well as a light lunch and refreshments. After the tour, adventurers can enjoy the fun 4×4 drive back through the stunning landscapes and beautiful 2,500 million-year-old mountain ranges. The Magaliesberg Canopy Tours are located less than an hour away from Phokeng, where holiday visitors can enjoy accommodation at the stunning 5-star Tshiberry Bed and Breakfast.
Visitors will be accompanied by two trained guides who will be of assistance from the beginning and ensure that your experience is both safe and thrilling, while also sharing their knowledge of the Indigenous plant life and bird life – keep an eye out for the endangered black eagle or the elusive klipspringer birds as you enjoy the day’s activities.
