Offering an exciting opportunity for visitors discovering Rustenburg to keep fit and enjoy the surrounding natural assets of Rustenburg, this “ladies only” training event is the perfect way to start a summer’s day while on vacation in the beautiful North West province of South Africa.

This training hike will stretch over the course of three hours and will be taking place at Rainhill Farm, a lovely natural setting with surrounding trees, shaded paths and blooming flowers – there is even a spot along the way for hikers to enjoy a refreshing swim. This hike will commence at 7 am on Saturday morning on the 24th November, bright and early to minimize the impact of the summer sun and heat. Rainhill Farm is located only 4 kilometres outside of Rustenburg and is rich in history that goes back to the early 19th century, home to two historical buildings that have been lovingly restored and cared for. There is also a restaurant on the farm grounds, Hatley’s Restaurant, where coffee can be enjoyed after the morning hike has been completed.

Get excited about this Sunrise to Sunset training hike that is geared towards helping fitness enthusiasts prepare for the official Sunrise to Sunset hike taking place in 2019, across the distance of 100 kilometres and over the course of 4 days. Be sure to bring water and snacks along, as well as some cash to enjoy the restaurant afterward and pay R20 to walk on Rainhill.

Those planning to participate in the Training Hike taking place at Rainhill Forest can also enjoy a selection of 5 star Rustenburg accommodation options at the Tshiberry Bed & Breakfast, located within the traditional Phokeng Village.
